No, they feel that scientific theories such as evolution challenge their religious beliefs. If science can disprove portions of the bible, it makes the bible less legitimate - thus making their religion less relevant. Instead of adapting their religion to fit with knowledge, they simply deny the knowledge, due to the fear of losing control.
