How do you change mouse serenity?

I want to know how to change my mouse serenity. pretty simple i would think just want to check if i did the right way and if it worked correctly. I went to control panel, and went to mouse, then pointer options, and finally changed pointer speed to fast. but I don't know about what i possibly did wrong. Please help me out
