I opened a utility account with my roommates information to get more time to pay the delinquent bill...?

He filed a police report and im going to be busted, its only $180 (2months...) what should i do in the mean time? specifically? and what can I expect as punishement? civil, criminal, felony? ... can he stop the proceedings once the file is in place?
