Why can't i get on webkinz world?

ok i have one of those animals called webkinz and you can get on the internet and enter a secrete code. well i have a cat, and i can't get on and feed it. i've had the account for three weeks now and the computer says it's doing matence work. why do they wanna do that? i had no problem with it!
