Sheer hesitation and disappointment, please help..?

...just to add to the advice others have already given...you might do a search on salaries in your area for the type of job your are looking at...it could be that what they are offering you is on the range to be expected. If it's your first job, you sometimes have to start out lower than you ultimately want to get to - it depends on the field, the economy, etc. Check out Monster.com for some advice in that area.
