Invited to travel to Melbourne, but i've heard the people are strange, is that true?

I have a Sister & Brother in-law living just out of Melbourne, from Sydney we hear a lot of strange things about Melbourne, including the men are all tall & skinny & skip around an oval a lot, unlike real Footballers. But also that its cold, windy, wet & sunny (for about 5 minutes each day). Does everyone down their have either a mullet hair cut OR wears their hair all messy in some neo trendy Lebanese way or something? Are they all insecure & obsessed about their second rate nature when compared to Sydney & are they naturally hostile towards their Northern neighbours in the Premier State?
